Thermage
October 4, 2008
Thermage technology uses radiofrequency energy (radiowaves) to tighten skin that has lost its elasticity due to aging, sun exposure, and genetics. The skin is comprised of the outer layer (epidermis) which is the superficial layer that tans or burns, and a deeper layer (dermis) where the collagen and elastin give the skin its structural integrity. As we get older, the collagen in the dermal layer loses its organized pattern and becomes less abundant. Thermage works in a manner similar to shrink-wrapping. A cooling phase protects the epidermis, then a short pulse of heat is delivered to the dermal collagen, followed by a cooling phase to keep the heat in the dermis. Thermage gives an instant, subtle improvement due to the immediate contracture of the existing collagen in the dermis. This initial result progressively improves over a period of two to three months as the body makes more collagen in response to the initial Thermage treatment. The results from a single treatment can last for two to three years.
A recent advance in Cellulite Therapy is the Thermage CL tip designed specifically for the treatment of cellulite. Almost all women exhibit some degree of cellulite, some studies indicate that a full 90% of women suffer from the dimpling, orange peel appearance of bulging fat pockets on the buttocks and thighs. Cellulite is almost exclusive to women, caused when decreasing levels of estrogen alter the circulation and structure of the storage fat cells in the lower extremities. These changes diminish the fibrous support system that acts as a girdle to hold back the storage fat, allowing it to distort the overlying skin. The Thermage CL tip rebuilds collagen and improves blood flow to the tissue giving rise to smoother appearing skin. Significant results can be achieved from a single treatment session without surgery, injections, or downtime.
Carbon Dioxide Therapy [Carboxytherapy] refers to the administration of minute amounts of Carbon Dioxide gas just beneath the skin surface. It is a relatively painless, in office procedure that is completed in 5 minutes with no residual downtime. Carboxytherapy is used for the treatment of dark under-eye circles, cellulite, and stretch marks.
CO2Touch represents the latest advances in carboxytherapy technology. CO2Touch delivers a continuous stream of gently heated gas that is adjustable for added patient safety and comfort. Along with CO2Touch Brazilian carboxytherapy, you can also get the latest techniques in treating stretch marks yielding faster, more dramatic results. In New York area Dr. Zdinak of Precision Aesthetics is one of the only physicians to offer Carboxytherapy for the treatment of Dark Under-Eye Circles, Stretch Marks, and Cellulite. She also designed and wrote the first protocols for its use in eyelid rejuvenation in the United States. Carboxytherapy is a relatively painless, in-office procedure that is completed in five minutes with no downtime.
Precision Aesthetics has agreed to participate in the first multi-center investigation of the clinical benefits of carboxytherapy. They will be sharing the results of her clinical research with prominent physicians in the Los Angeles area to establish treatment protocols for physicians worldwide.
